Greers Ferry - Freshwater Fishing Report

Little Red River

Lindsey's Resort (501-302-3139) said the water is clear and normal; one generator is running in the afternoon. Trout are excellent; try wax worms, Power Bait and corn. For fly anglers, go with dry flies.

Greers Ferry Lake

As of Wednesday, the Army Corps of Engineers reports the lake's elevation at 458.4 feet msl (normal conservation pool – 461 msl).

Tommy Cauley of Fish Finder Guide Service said the water level at Greers Ferry Lake is falling; surface temperature is 77-81 degrees. Black bass are biting pretty good out on the drops and some shallow fish are eating top-water baits and buzz baits, as well as swim baits. For the drop fish, use Texas-rigged worms, the Arkansas Claw and jigs. For fish in between, use shaky head rigs. Crappie are eating on and off all day on jigs tipped with minnows. The walleye bite is slowly getting better, been tough catching them this year; try night crawlers in 15-40 feet of water. Hybrids and white bass are eating well off and on all day and night. The bream action continues to be good shallow and out to 27 feet of water for the bigger fish. Catfishing is excellent on a variety of baits.

Target Species:
