Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

The past week has been on and off for big striped bass. Bigger fish have left the eastern part of the sound over the last week but reports from the western part of the sound say there are loads of big stripers in their area. This only means good things to come over the next couple weeks in our area. Every year we seem to slam big bass after a late august lull. I expect really good things for September. Bluefish are still here in huge masses. Fish taken on topwater stuff range in the 3 to 5 pound range and bigger 10+ pounders are being caught deeper.

Long Island Sound Fishing Forecast:

September and October = big bass on live bait and the kickoff to the blackfish season
