Its definitely Fall

Capt. Sandy Noyes
October 11, 2009
Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

We have had pretty good luck with the albies for the past several weeks. Both on fly and spin gear. They are moving around so they may not be in the same place two days in a row.The water temps are falling steadily but the bay anchovies are sticking around. We have had some fun with 10 lb. bluefish and at times we have had some good sized schools of bass.Unless we get hit with a strong nor'easter the fishing should remain constant for a couple more weeks.

Target Species:

False albacore, Stripers & Bluefish

More Fishing Reports:

We do fly fishing and light tackle trips out of Stonington, CT. We fish the Watch Hill Reefs as far East as Newport, RI out to Montauk in the fall and West to the Connecticut River. We also cover the Race, the Sluiceway and Plum Gut. Depending on the time of the year we will be looking for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonito, False Albacore and Bluefin Tuna. On our trips we can provide everything except food and clothing.
