Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

This past week saw very big fish landed aboard the Kingfisher. Striped Bass to 40" and bluefish to 15lbs. have been caught using a wide variety of technique's. Diamond jigs, plastic swim baits, live eels, and on the fly rod have all been effective depending on time and place. Saturday Mark and his dad caught all the bass and blues they wanted so they finished the trip with a 20" fluke for the table. Sunday Jamie and crew used the same technique in the race to nab 4 keeper bass and numerous large blues. Tue. David and Kerrie trolled live eels catching monster blues to 12-15lbs. during an afternoon trip. Wed. morning Scott, Russ, and Josh, limited out with the bass in the first hr. tossing back half dozen more bass using top water, fly, and casting swim baits. The versatility of our boat and equipment allows us the ability to fish shallow and deep, depending on were the fish are and what you prefer.
