Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Connecticut Charter Fishing Report Mystic, CT
----------------Connecticut Charter Fishing Report Mystic, CT---------------- Even though we are in the middle of this frigid winter it’s time to start thinking and planning for the hot fishing to come this year. We are already preparing for the upcoming season that starts May 10th for the Kingfisher. Once again we will be targeting the doormat fluke off Montauk and the early run of ravenous stripers arriving in May. Locally, fluke and bluefish will arrive in strong numbers in June, providing opportunities to compliment your striped bass catches. Offshore, sharks arrive in numbers in late June for those wishing to tangle with something really big! (Best shark for us last season was 350lbs.) July marks the arrival of our good friend the Hickory Shad. Following them are large numbers of big bass in shallow water that feed on the hickories (this can be truly amazing fishing). August and September includes consistent fishing for all the above species as well as porgies and the fist arriving bonito and false albacore (we tied the state record for false albacore last year-15 lbs.) Oct. and Nov. bring in the blackfish which was the best season in years last fall. Dates are already being booked, so call early to reserve your prime fishing date.
