Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

This weeks report from the Kingfisher!
Thursday afternoon, Tom Tokar and his group livelined hickory shad to score 5 nice stripers between 20 and 30 pounds. Dan Obrien took home their annual big fish of the trip trophy.
Friday afternoon brought out the pro’s from www.worldofhunting.com . Having hunted and fished all over the world they weren’t looking to catch a bunch of barely keeper sized stripers. They were after hard fighting lunkers that test your skills and tackle. This email I received pretty much sums up how their trip went..........
“Mark I cant say enough about the way you guy’s put us on the fish. I have hunted and fish all over the world and to say the least this is by the one of the greatest trips I have been on. “ I guess when you land 11 fish in 5 hours and the smallest fish is 35’’ with the last two fish of the day being 45’’ what can words possible explain!” Kingfisher Guide service you “ROCK” Big striper fish is your game…….
Also, 9 of the 11 fish caught were released unharmed.
If you would like to see pictures of the two 45” fish go to www.worldofhunting.com then the outfitters section.
Saturdays trip was close to a repeat with our regular Robert, No Mas, and crew. They tallied 7 keepers from 36’” TO 42” for the day with several lost during the hook up. Sunday was just ridiculous. It was a perfect fathers day for Jeff Conklin, brother Brian and his wife, Jeff’s son Ryan and his grandfather. After a tough time finding live bait we ended up catching the tide just right and within 2 hours of non stop action they landed 10 fish between 35” and 44”. It was so fast and furious they threw in the towel once they reached their limit.
They funny thing is July and August have always been our best months. If this is a preview of what’s to come it will be an phenomenal season for the Kingfisher.
