Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Saltwater fishing CT report from the Kingfisher

Strong cold front showed up this weekend to put the lockjaw on the fish. Saturday brought out the Wooten group from New Britain for one of there three yearly trips. The bait was very tough to find so we ended up finding some 12" blues and livelining them for stripers. I had a feeling the cold front was going to make things tough, they did manage two 40" stripers plus two more aroung 37". Sunday, was like the dead sea (so to speak). Managed a half a dozen hickory shad and ran out towards the race. Marking fish on the screen on every drift but only one 32" decided to eat. The fish were just not interested in eating. Finished up the second half of the trip fishing for fluke with the usual many shorts and one keeper. After two weeks straight of incredible fishing we were bound to see a couple slow days at some point. I am sure it will be back to normal very soon.
