Eastern Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound

Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Latest report from the Kingfisher

Things are breaking out all over the place in the Eastern part of Long Island Sound. Fish are beginning their migration and they are on the feed. There has been shad and bunker in the river, stripers and blues on most reefs and in the river chasing the bunker, and blackfish season has opened with fish on just about every rockpile. Took a couple out sat. and had hammer blues nailing em' right outside our marina. Headed towards the race and found them busting on bait. Great fun on poppers. Sunday's group (the Spencer brothers and dad) tried there luck with blacks and weren't dissapointed limitting out in a few hours with a couple 5 to 7 pounders. I expect the striper and blue fishing to continue being great through October and blackfish are here into Dec.
