Striper fishing is off to a good start.

Capt. Sandy Noyes

Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

The bass bite continues to hold up pretty well. There is a good supply of small herring and sand eels to keep the fish happy. We were able to get out several times this past week and found fish in most of the places that we stopped. The main ingrediant seems to be a good running tide. That keeps the bait moving and the fish happy. We did see more bluefish show up. Some of them were in the eight to ten lb. range. The largest bass of the week was about 14lbs. and that was taken on a squid fly.

More Fishing Reports:

We do fly fishing and light tackle trips out of Stonington, CT. We fish the Watch Hill Reefs as far East as Newport, RI out to Montauk in the fall and West to the Connecticut River. We also cover the Race, the Sluiceway and Plum Gut. Depending on the time of the year we will be looking for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonito, False Albacore and Bluefin Tuna. On our trips we can provide everything except food and clothing.
