Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

The past few trips indicate that Striped Bass are still migrating to their summer homes along the coast of New England. Thursday we had outstanding catches with sizes up to 44" on live bunker (video on Facebook page) with only a couple bluefish mixed in. Saturday afternoon in the same location the fish were gone and we had to do some searching before finding them in the Race. Diamond jigs were the ticket as the Stripers were throughout the water column chasing bait fish,no bluefish mixed in. Sunday went back and the fish were gone once again, making for a slow Fathers Day.July typically signals the arrival of our summer residents, stay tuned.
