Quepos - Saltwater Fishing Report

Costa Rica fishing in February has been outstanding. While the numbers are down a little on Sailfish caught per boat, the variations of species has been awesome. February had seen a lot of Marlin caught and released. Lots of Blue and Black.
Also the size of these Marlin have been very big. Many fish over 300 pounds is making for great fishing. I personally caught one over 450 pounds a week ago, and several boats have caught even larger, as well, topping out at 650 pounds!
We are starting to see a lot of Wahoo, which is always great--I consider it one of the tastiest fish on the planet. And the Dorado being caught are really keeping the fishing action hot!
Quepos Inshore fishing has been very consistent, with lots of Rooster Fish, some big Snook, and some nice Snapper being caught almost daily on our Inshore boat.
We're excited about going into March and April, as I have a feeling that these months are going to be incredible fishing opportunities. There are several major tournaments scheduled for the upcoming months!
So if you're thinking about trying to catch a Marlin, there's no other place on the planet that's going to give you the opportunities that we can offer you here in Costa Rica. With the new multimillion dollar Quepos marina completed, this is possibly the nicest marina in all of Central America. So what are you waiting for? Let's get you out on the water to have a fantastic Quepos Fishing day.
