Weather and Fishing Improving

Capt. Dan Wise
August 19, 2009
Rio Colorado - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather has been hot and rainy, as usual at Rio Colorado Lodge, this time of year. The tarpon are rolling, but haven't seemed too interested in our bait! However, last week things began to improve with the rain coming mostly in the very early mornings, and the tarpon more hungry. A couple visiting last week fished 3 days and hooked 10 tarpon and boated 3 nice snook.

Rio Colorado Fishing Forecast:

We anticipate the weahter and the fishing to continue to improve. September typically is a very good tarpon fishing time, with the ocean usually very calm.

More Fishing Reports:

The Rio Colorado Lodge is remotely located on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, nestled in Costa Rica's ropical jungle where the Colorado River flows into the Caribbean Sea.  Here you'll experience the world's best tarpon and snook fishing as well as a multitude of light tackle game fish.
