Blues and Stripes in Manta

Capt. Luis Gomez
June 10, 2009
Manta - Saltwater Fishing Report

We had a group fishing this weekend in Manta after many weeks of slow action fishing in Salinas and the results were promising for the starting season here.
Two days fishing on board our Bertram 31 in Manta saw 2 Blue Marlin releases and 2 Stripe Marlin releases and 3 more that got away.
Plenty of bait in the water and great conditions with temperatures at 79F and a northern current give Manta a perfect setting for yet another record season during the summer and fall 2009. The Blues were over the 400lb mark and the Stripes around the 150lb mark.
Manta is famous for the giant Marlin sizes and we are expecting to break the Bluemarlin Lodge Record established in 2007 with a 900 pound Black Marlin released on August of that year. Letīs see who breaks it!!
