Ecuador December Report

Capt. Luis Gomez
December 16, 2008
Salinas - Saltwater Fishing Report

More surprises.....we are in the final days of the year and Manta is having solid Marlin numbers, even though the Salinas season has started already.

This weekend, the bite was solid with three boats out counting 5 Striped Marlin releases and 3 Blue Marlin releases (around 400lbs the biggest) . For what it looks like, Manta is going to keep us busy even during the first part of 2009.

Salinas saw the National Tournament at the Salinas Yacht Club end this weekend with average Marlin numbers. Since it is still the beginning of the season, we should see the bite pick up in great numbers there during the next couple of weeks. Total amount of fishing days was 3 with average marlin bites of 5 per boat, not to mention the Mahis and Tunas that are showing up in great numbers and made the day for all the anglers.

It is a good thing to have now two places to choose for fishing. Manta and Salinas promise to keep us on our toes, ready for the latest reports.

Buena pesca amigos
