Schooling Redfish

Capt. Jeff Crumpton
December 1, 2010
Amelia Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

It is that time of year the trout are on fire and the redfish are heading into their winter pattern of schooling up. We have been catching black drum as well and the sheephead are biting too. I have been busy fishing/guiding and have neglected to file any reports but I plan to change this and try and file a report 1-2 times a month. I have added another boat to the fleet. I now offer a 1754 Grizzly tracker outfitted for 2 guest this is a great lil flats boat and floats real skinny. Or the 24ft. Ranger bay boat which floats in about 11-12" for this size of boat is pretty skinny. Go with gold spoons and try some Big Bite Baits 4 inch in paddle tails or 3 inch in shrimp patterns. The colors to try are Baby sea trout, Gold emrald shiner, and Strawberry wine/roootbeer. This is a great bait with lots of scent that will not dry out and is deadly attached to a jig with a bettle spin spinner blade or rigged weedless. Tight Lines and Screeming Drags, Captain Jeff Crumpton

Amelia Island Fishing Forecast:
