Anna Maria Fishing Charters - Fishing Update

Capt. Tom Chaya
March 24, 2013
Anna Maria - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing has been excellent on the calmer days. Kingfish started showing up even though the water temperatures are in the mid sixties. We hooked a few to 15 pounds in 30 feet. Plenty of spanish mackerel were around the reefs and hard bottom. Big shiners and silver spoons are good baits.
We released some nice snook around the mangroves. Len Shebosky landed a nice 36 inch snook and had numerous school sized fish. Trout fishing has been strong with a lot of fish in the 22-26 inch range. They are moving in on the pre spawn and should cooperate throughout the spring. Redfish have been in roaming schools around the areas oyster bars. Bluefish are providing quick action on the deeper grass on the stronger tides. Sheepshead are still feeding around the docks and bridges. Tom Chaya
