January Lower Florida Keys Flats Fishing Report

Capt. Scott Yetter
January 10, 2013
Big Pine Key - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather and the fishing has been exceptional for this time of year. Water temperatures have been in the mid to high 70's. Been finding large laid up tarpon. Also juvenile tarpon, permit and redfish.

Glassy smooth earlier this week. We had floating permit mixed in with rolling tarpon.

More like April than Jan. this week. Who knows how long this warm spell will last.. It has been good!
This time of year we typically target barracuda, jacks, sharks, lady fish, sea trout, redfish, etc.. But it has been nice enough to chase tarpon, permit and bonefish.
