Biscayne Bay Florida Fishing: Bonefish And Permit Fishing Hot!

Capt. Raul Montoro
August 19, 2009
Biscayne Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Biscayne Bay has been red hot for bonefish and permit. There have been several schools of bonefish from five to ten pounds on the ocean side flats of the bay. There have been several small groups of fish from 5 to 10 fish in a school and this past week I encountered several schools from 20 to 100 fish. These fish are hungry and eating flies and live shrimp really well.

The permit fishing has been red hot. Most of the permit I've been fishing are on the ocean side flats, and having a dozen shots in a day is not uncommon this time of year. From now untill the fall, the fishng is just going to get better and better. Sorry no pictures this time, my camera fell in the water again..
