Biscayne Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

For the past couple of weeks I've been mainly fishing out of Flamingo Marina in Everglades National Park, but I getting back to my usual summer routine fishing for permit and bonefish.
Fishing in the summer months is one of the best time to site fish permit on the flats.
They come off the channels and off shore and work the deeper edges of the flats looking for food.

Their favorite meal is a live blue crab, especially this time of year where they are plentiful. Permit will also eat a well-presented shrimp or a ¼ to 3/8-ounce pink buck tail jig in my area of Biscayne Bay. We also fly fish for permit, which are one of the most challenging ways to catch them, and you really have to put the time in with the fly rod to be successful at making them eat.

It's prime time permit fishing in Biscayne Bay; Give me a call if you're up for the challenge at site fishing the coolest fish that swims on the flats in Beautiful Biscayne Bay.
