Boca Grande, Fl. 1-2-2010

Capt. Pete Greenan

Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

Cool weather decended upon us this week but it did not stop the redfish from eating everything we threw at them. Most of the flies we used were Puglisi patterns fished very slowly. Because of afternoon winds I stayed on the north side of Charlotte Harbor where I found a lot of fish feeding deep in the back country.
Seatrout have been hitting very well in the back water basins with a dark bottom. The water warms faster there.

I have not sought snook much catching only a few small fish. As soon as the water warms a bit more they will be back in force.
The rest of the week looks just so-so due to the cool weather. Next week will see relief from the cold and much better fishing.
Fish Hard,
Capt. Pete Geenan
