Boca Grande, Florida Fishing Report

Capt. Andy Boyette
October 21, 2004
Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fall Fishing Fest

Fall fishing is extremely good right now with snook action heating up as the bigger fish move back to winter places. You will find large numbers of big snook at most points where there is good water flow and depth you can do well with the live bait that is plentiful right now as well as with artificial early in the morning or after you fire up the bite with live chummers.

Redfish action is still good with some schools still being found throughout the area. Cut sardines or dead shrimp will bring the school to you once you locate the area. These fish tend to stay put for a short period of time and can disappear and reappear from day to day.

Offshore fishing should be interesting with kingfish making there annual fall run south. Cobia should also be in the mix along with permit and tripletail. These migratory fish seem to have a highway of some sorts on the water and if you can intersect it you can enjoy a well-rounded day on the water. Look at the map and find the reefs and you should be able to determine a route these fish will take. Consistent anglers do their homework before hitting the water it just pays off.

Good Things Come To Those With Bait
