Boca Grande and Charlotte Harbor

Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

Local fishing stumbles thru setbacks.

First we get weekly fronts with high winds and cooler weather. Then we get patches of red tide; a fish killing mess. It’s impossible to guess just what will happen next. The scourge could move on and improve like our weather. We just monitor the web sites to see which cards Mother Nature will deal us next week.

We had found some nice pompano but the world blew up on that with the big front. It’s tough to get a handle on the changes. The high winds should help blow the mess away but some damage has been done. So far it’s mostly a nascence with out big fish kills.

Our fishing was due to hit it’s stride and we do expect great action after this passes. We had some trouble last year then enjoyed our best snook action in a decade. Go figure? The best is yet to come this year. We’ll keep you posted as things develop. Let’s Go Fishin’ Van Hubbard
