Boca Grande and Charlotte Harbor

Capt. Van Hubbard
December 15, 2004
Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

God bless and Merry Christmas.

12-15-04

We are surviving the challenges “04" threw us and enjoyed some great fishing.

It’s the holidays and time to be thankful. Christmas is special to most of us and a time to share with family and friends. We had some trouble with hurricanes this year but my home was lucky and we are thankful. My family has had health problems and I’m glad they are still here and

so far so good for me. Thank you God. Our year is almost over ; I’m optimistic next year will be better and grateful for the blessings we enjoyed. Our charter business took a licking after Charlie and that’s a lot more time off than we needed. We did get in some fishing trips. The fishing was so good we actually went for fun and pictures several times. Live is better every day and I’m grateful for all the blessings I received this year. This is a special time for us to share and visit family. Enjoy and Merry Christmas.

Our weather turned cold finally. We had some awesome trips in the last few weeks. Big smoker kings into December. Big permit for Thanksgiving. Excellent catches of pompano right up till the winds started to howl. Snook and trout are closed to harvest right now. Reds and those tasty pompano are enough to keep us from going fish hungry. The trout open back up on New Years Day and should be co-operative then. Snook opens in February so we have that to look forward to also. Spring will reappear before you know it so it’s time to make plans tp enjoy Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande snook and tarpon fishing right after the holidays. Sheepshead will be bunching up as things get cold and the oysters are almost ready for us to go pick up a mess to share. The area took a big hit from the storms and a bigger hit with lost income from all the mess. Plan your trip to enjoy our piece of paradise and help us at the same time. We miss you and offer our thanks and blessings.
