Boca Grande and Charlotte Harbor

Capt. Van Hubbard

Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing is good here right now.

9-14-05

Fishing has been different this year; frequently challenging but often good.

Right now we are enjoying some comfortable weather and good fishing. We don’t know what to expect down the road because there has been some red tide patches in the area. We do see a few dead fish but just one hear and one there recently. Water clarity is good because there has been no rain. Fish are moving around. Some days they are easy to locate others it’s working to hunt em up.

We found some perfect sized reds and a few snook both yesterday and today. Bait minnows are not easy and we lost a few both days but we did not see any fresh fish kills. I hear horror stories from other waters but so far so good around here. I’ll keep you posted and hope things remain fishy. With the price of gas there are less boats than normal for now.

Please pray for the less fortunate folks suffering from hurricanes and all.

Let’s Go Fishin’ soon. Captain Van Hubbard
