Boca Grande and Charlotte Harbor

Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

great fishing now!

Short and sweet but good fishing needs to be reported.

Last week we had great weather and very good catching to go with great fishing. Water color is beautiful. No rain is dry on the land but nice on the water. No runoff is clear water sight fishing. We had a drizzle this am before church but just to settle the dust. It blew us out yesterday but is already calming down and shifting to the noreast tonight. All great for the coming weeks fishing.

We had slot snook most days last week and some nice trout and reds for dinner the others. King mackerel are all over but my crews wanted snook so we played in the backcountry. Lots of fish popping our chum minnows all over the flats on the incoming tides. The fish are moving and not holding very long in one place. Baitfish have been pouring in most passes all week long. Most minnows are very small but still fishable.

The snook and inside fish were set back by last year’s red tides but are rebounding fast and things look very good for tarpon. A few are already showing up. Again the mackerel, both Spanish and kings are here and hot to bite. The abundance of minnows is a very positive sign of good fishing to come. I do have a few days open please see about reserving your fishing ASAP. Thank you. Let’s Go Fishin’ soon. Captain Van Hubbard
