Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

fishing is warming with the water.

Fishing is improving everyday.

We had to work for fish recently but our weather forecast is for warmer Spring like weather. Like eighties for about a week. Water temps today were only sixty-five degrees. Several warm days will push it up dramatically. As waters warm up into the seventies we can expect fish activity to increase. Their metabolism will awaken and they will be hungry. The first anglers on hungry snook will enjoy some rd hot action. I’m guessing this will be rocking by the Equinox on the 21st. we have nice blue sky days and the phone is ringing again. Gulf waters are clearing and mackerel should migrate north anytime. The upper sixties water is prime time for big macks. Some nice pompano are already cooperating. Bob Curtis had a beautiful two pound golden nugget on today’s trip. On his fly rod no less. We had a few trout and some ladyfish for good measure. Bob and Marge had a fine pompano dinner. We are seeing a few nice snook already and more should start moving by the weekend. It’s late and fair weather predicted for the rest of this week. Let’s Go Fishin’ What are we waiting for?
