Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

Tarpon Fishing is in full swing with large numbers of tarpon available across the entire Boca Grande area. Charlotte Harbor is playing host to several nice schools, as is Pine Island Sound. The little passes Captiva, Redfish, and Gasprillia are also holding some good fish. The crabs have flushed on some tides and fishing in the late afternoon with crabs has been good early. The crowds in Boca Grande Pass are growing to usual numbers and exceeded 200 last Saturday. Tarpon fishing will continue to be good through June and well into July. After a quick trip offshore to spawn tarpon fishing should pickup for the fall late season and last through September. Last year we experienced large numbers of tarpon in Boca Grande in December.

Here are a couple of good shots of tarpon caught on trips over the past few weeks. My May and June schedule is almost full with only a few dates left in June. I have plenty of room in July and August, some of the years best fishing for tarpon can occur during these months, and the crowds are gone as well.
