December 20, 2015
Boca Grande - Saltwater Fishing Report

Merry Christmas every one and Happy New Year!!!

I hope all of you had an awesome 2015 and have an even better 2016. I would just like to tell everyone how very blessed I am to have all of you as clients and that you are truly a wonderful group. I can't wait to see you all in 2016.

The fishing so far in December has been crazy good, especially for big snook. I have been consistently catching fish in the 35″-40″ range and weighing as much as 25 lbs. I am not just catching a few fish either. I have been averaging 30-50 fish a trip. Hopefully we will continue to have a mild winter and this trend will last a little longer. I love catching big snook!

Nice trout have also been really plentiful lately. Lots of nice keeper size fish and good numbers of fish in the 22′-24″ range. If this is any indication of how our upcoming Winter and Spring trout fishing is going to be I'm pretty excited.

The Redfish fishing has been okay as well. I'm not putting up any stellar numbers but I am able to catch 5-15 nice fish just about every trip. Those numbers obviously depend on how much time we spend fishing for them and not targeting snook and trout.

In the mixed bag just about everything is happening. There are still plenty of big sharks. Kingfish and Spanish mackerel are still a possibility and Flounder have been hitting the boat on just about every trip. What I'm trying to say is the fish is very good right now.

Just a quick reminder the 2016 Boca Grande Tarpon season is coming up and I am already close to 50% booked. If you are wanting to get in on some fo the best Tarpon fishing in the world you need to start planning now

Hope to see you all in 2016.
