We have had lots of onshore winds that have been pushing pompano, permit, bonefish, and jacks into the intracoastal waterway. The best way to catch them has been with tiny pieces of cut shrimp on small gold hooks and 6 lb line. We have been having the best luck while anchored and chumming in 4 to 6 ft depths along sandy bottom.

During the few days when the ocean has flattened out we have been catching some nice Mahi Mahi on the outside of the reef using bonito strips on the troll. Best depths were 140-160ft last week. Further offshore, we were able to land a nice swordfish while using dead squid for bait on the bottom in 1500 ft.

Bottom fishing for red eye snapper has been excellent in 150 ft depths. Our best method has been chicken rigs with small pieces of cut bonito fished near the bottom. We have been catching plenty of triggerfish while targeting the snapper.

We have been having good action on snook and tarpon at the spillways after it rains, with live sardines giving us the most action.
