Cape Coral - Saltwater Fishing Report

Some of you may have seen this pic. It's one from a recent trip to Big Pine Key, in the Florida Keys. But what you may not know is that while it looks like a huge catch, it's actually just a juvenile possibly only 15 to 20 years old.
The biggest Tarpon I ever caught, by measurement of length and girth, feeding well, was 230 pounds off nearby Sanibel Island. Length 84" X 45" girth. We estimated it to be around 50 to 60 years old. Absolutely Amazing Creatures. I always treat them with kindness and release them unharmed. I have never lost one to a shark.
