Cape Coral - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Migrating Mangrove Snapper are back and thick in Captiva Pass. 18 to 20 feet. Drop a Shrimp on a 2/0 hook with a 5 oz slip egg sinker weight 18 inches above it to the bottom. The bite is lightning fast and you barely have time to get the slack out of the line before they strike. Bring plenty of shrimp cause these tricksters make their living stealing your bait.
Turn you boat sideways to the wind and tide and let three lines out downstream to prevent tangles. 1 each Bow, Mid Ship and Stern. If your line has too much angle, increase your weight to 6oz. If the line is vertical a 4 oz. egg will do.
If you can't get the hang of it call me and go on my boat. We'll have a blast.
My wrists hurt after all those snapper fights this morning. Poor WAH Baby.
HEY YOU! You're fishing in my spot! Just kidding. I don't mind sharing the spots and what's going with you.
Most fish here migrate and the spots constantly move anyway so no harm done. There's room for everybody so Let's Go Fishing.
