Cape Coral - Saltwater Fishing Report

CAPE CORAL FISHING REPORT:
by Captain Russ Walker
Week ending May 26th, 2018
Water Temp in the inter-coastal @ 80.4 degrees.
Weather was tough this week with rain coming in ahead of tropical storm Alberto forming in the Gulf of Mexico.
Inside Pine Island sound, Captiva bay, yet East of marker 54 is still productive. A hit almost every cast when you throw to the color change of the flat. A popping cork, 4' 30 lb. mono leader, 1/4 oz egg sinker above a 4 ought Owner, offset hook baited with live shrimp should do it.
Predator fish continue to run up and down these channel breaks on the grass flat edges.
Big Blacktip shark hits still at Foster's Point.
Tarpon are rolling off the beaches N/S, gulf side of Gasparilla Island. They were all over us but no hits
Reports of big Tarpon rollers at Boca Grande Pass are coming in too. Many hook-up reports yet, few landings.
For Trout, Pompano and Mackerel try working the sandbar and grass flat edges where the structure starts to dive from 4.5'/ 5' to deeper channel waters.
Until Next Tide; Enjoy the Magic of Florida Fishing.
Tide Walker Charters. Every Trip is an Adventure.
Locations: Bokeelia / Cape Coral, Florida.
