Cape Coral - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing Report November 23, 2019
Good Morning Sports Fans. Hey, what's better than Mac and Cheese? Mackerel on the sandbar of course.
Mackerel swarmed the sand bars just outside Captiva Pass. They were thick jumping out of the water covering an area of, probably at least half a square mile. Special Lee County Home Show Charter Drawing winners Paul, John, James and Momma Andy caught a bunch. It was wild. Looked like they were feeding on ghost minnows so our silver slabs worked well. (We Lost 8 lures to our sharp teethed foes. It's the price for fame I guess.) The frenzy started just after dawn and lasted till 10:20.
Subsequently, we were forced to seek our entertainment elsewhere and Wah-Lah. Huge Speckled Sea Trout were found on the grass flat break just in front of P-Diddie's place on North Bokeelia. We kept some mackerel but the trout were all catch and release. John pulled one beautiful Redfish out from under the mangroves on the west side of Whoppee Island.
All and all it was a stellar day. High of 80 degrees. Water Temperature at 73.2.
