Everglades/Chokoloskee Summer Fishing

Capt. Bert Barkus
August 23, 2011
Chokoloskee - Saltwater Fishing Report

/Chokoloskee Summer Fishing
Report Date: August 18, 2011
With summer here your fishing patterns must change.
Especially here in the Everglades with all the tanic, and hot water around.
Fish the deeper spots aound the outer islands for all game fish,But move after 5 minutes if your not getting any strikes.
Offshore fishing is in a good position for getting away from this hot, tanic water.
Snook,Trout,Permit,Triple Tail and a few Cobia can be found, "That is if you have the structure out their to fish".
If your losing permit to the sharks I would like you to be conservation minded and go after other species.
The Reds are spread out so keep moving.
A few Small tarpon, in the 20 to 40 pound range, are under the small schools of finge mullet.
Snook are hard to come by inshore.
