Chokoloskee - Saltwater Fishing Report

Summer Time in Chokoloskee/Everglades national Park
Report Date: July 15, 2011
What can you say but Get out early, and back home buy 1/2 day.
Snook are around, but you gave to keep on the move.
Reds are basically on the same pattern.
Spotted sea trout and spanosh mackeral are your best bet for quick and fun fishing.
Tarpon are still a problem,but shouldn't be.
We really only had a few weeks evey now and then when you could depend, and target them.
This has been pobably been the wost productive
Tarpon year we have had in my area.
If you can catch it just right, permit ,cobia and tripletail can be caught on the gulf side, way offshone.
Backcounty snook fishing it still hit or miss, do not expect the snook to be of any size.
At the present time i'm doing alot of Boat Assisted Kayak Eco Tours/Photo Tours as well as Kayak Fly Fishing.
An average backcountry snook, once you have found them, and thats not easy, is 2 to 6 or 7 pounds.
This has probably been the worse season I have had in the 30 plus years of fishing here.
Waiting for weather stability, and some rain to get things going again.
