Winter fishing still hot in the Everglades

Capt. Herb Kehoe
February 9, 2010
Chokoloskee - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well the water temperature is still in the low 70's, but the fish don't seem to mind. The trout bite continues to the best I have seen in years. The fish are large and very hungry. Mixed in with the trout, we are catching some nice sized pompano and lots of ladyfish. Around the bars, we are catching redfish from 16 to 24 inches and still finding some nice sized black drum.
