Fishing Report for Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island & Port Canaveral

Capt. Ron Presley
November 27, 2006
Cocoa Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dear Santa

I am writing this letter to let you know what a good boy I have been. I have been cleaning my boat after every use, rinsing and wiping down my rods and reels, writing my fishing reports and telling my wife I love her. I have worked hard on my Christmas list to make your work easier. I have narrowed the list down to only three items so you will not have to spend too much time in filling my list.

First, I would like a new Terra Ceia Telescoping Tower to add to my Pathfinder. This tower will give me the advantage of height above the water and improve my ability to spot fish. Please get the full tower design that lifts up from a half-tower position to a full tower by rising on a cushion of air. This design will allow me to pass under bridges that a full tower will not go under. If you need more information about it you can visit their website at www.terraceiatowers.com

Secondly, I would like a new Minn Kota Riptide ST trolling motor. This newest Minn Kota comes in three power levels, 55, 80, and 101 pounds of thrust. It also comes in a choice of shaft lengths, 48, 54, and 60. The best fit for my boat will be the 101 with a 60 inch shaft. Please be sure to make a note of that. And just think Santa, the ST comes complete with AutoPilot for great boat control and the remote control feature of CoPilot is standard equipment. The CoPilot will let me control speed, steering and on/off. It also has a new high speed bypass control for instant full power when I need to avoid obstacles in my path. Santa, I can even turn on and control my AutoPilot from the remote! Nothing else to buy or wrap! Santa, this is like brand new – not even on the Minn Kota website yet but it soon will be at www.minnkota.com I checked and there should be some rolling off the assembly line soon. But please don’t wait too long Santa; get mine as soon as you can.

And finally, Santa, I would like a Humminbird 595c Combo fish finder and sonar unit. The 595c is a combination GPS Chart plotter and sonar combined. It has a 5 inch color display at 320V by 240H pixels. It will show my position on a built in Unimap and it can be upgraded with maps from Navionics, Hotmaps, or Marine Offshore Cartography. It works like the GPS you use when navigating your sleigh on foggy nights so I am sure you understand how important it is for me to have one on my boat.

In closing, Santa, I would like to offer you a gift certificate for a ½ day fishing trip. It’s not for you Santa. All you have to do is call and we can arrange another trip just like we did last year. This trip is for a U.S. Serviceman on leave from serving overseas in the war against terror. I hope you know of one who has asked for a fishing trip and you can leave it in his stocking. And Santa, if you need more for other soldiers, I have lots of friends who would do the same thing. All the service man would have to do is show a Military I.D. and Official Orders directing the service member to return to their foreign duty post.

Thank you Santa. I know you are busy so I will close. Say hi to Mrs. Claus and all the reindeer and elves.

Tight reigns, Santa, and have a safe flight on Christmas Eve.

Capt. Ron

Other Notes of Interest

Don’t forget that snook seasons closes again in less than a month. The winter closure is December 15 – January 31.

Spotted Sea Trout are closed now and won’t reopen until January 1, 2007.

The new Gander Mountain store is now open in Lake Mary at the intersection of I4 and Lake Mary Blvd. It is in the Southeast quadrant of the intersection. This is the newest store in the Gander Mountain chain, but not likely the last in Florida. Stop by and check them out.

As always, you can visit my website at www.inshorefishingadventures.com to view pictures of the fish we catch. That’s what it’s all about. Good fishin’.
