Target Species !

Well; I'm back to the beach here in Seagrove/Grayton after 2 weeks at Indian Pass. The Tarpon are right where they are supposed to be and still great at driving an angler crazy by jumping and rolling all around the boat. The weather was not as co-operative as I would have liked it for about half the time I was there with rough seas and lots of rain/lighting on several days. When it's pretty it sure is a wonderful place to go fishing though !

Hot Fish at the Boat.

There are a lot more "smaller" fish around this year with lots of schools of 50-75# tarpon. I guess that bodes well for future years, if they get used to showing up at that size they should keep coming when they are 200#.

A Happy Angler

The other guides here at Grayton said fishing is still hot with a good bite on Kings, Triggers and Vermillions for the box-- Still all the Red Snappers you can handle for catch and release fishin'. I'm back fishing at Grayton tomorrow so I should have a "on the scene" report pretty quick.

One of my clients was kind enough to video his son's Tarpon catch & release at the boat with my camera (as always. I was busy with the leader and fish) I hope to be able to put it up on the computer in a few days. Good fish, 'bout 125# and still pretty green when I grabbed the leader at the boat.

And a Zoom to the Water Spout

The 2 pics above are of a water spout I was watching (get closer) while we were fighting a tarpon. Luckily the fish and the weather decided to go in different directions after a bit !

More Fishing Reports:

Gulf Fishing off Grayton Beach in beautiful South Walton. Red Snapper to Cobia to King Mackeral to Grouper. No need to get up early or drive for an hour to a marina. We will pick you up on the beach and be on a reef or wreck in usually less than 15 minutes. Some of the Gulfs best fishing lies just offshore of the snow white sands of South Walton. We also offer Tarpon trips at Indian Pass during the summer run. July and August have large schools of giant Silver Kings feeding just off the beach.
