Destin - Saltwater Fishing Report

With the calm weather recently we've been able to make a couple flounder trips about a mile out from the beach and the bite has been great. We were able to get 40 flounder, a bull red and a 13 lb gag grouper a few days ago. We were using light tackle setups with a variety of grubs on 1/2 oz jigheads. Even the grouper and red were caught on a pearl white Bass Assassin fluke.

This next trip we boated 16 flounder. Most were taken on artificial but the biggest, 20", was taken on a finger mullet.

We also hooked into a surprising little octopus!!

Destin Fishing Forecast:

The flounder bite has been steadily strong throughout the fall and should continue for a few more weeks at least.
