Family Fishin'

Capt. Larry Pentel

Destin - Saltwater Fishing Report

Back to South Walton and taking folks fishing off Grayton. I had a great week "off" over at Indian Pass. My oldest daughters birthday week was a grand time with wonderful weather, some fine fishing and bountiful scalloping. I even got to go swimming with the scallops on 3 different days and had a blast- we limited out easily every day.

This was her biggest- weighed just a smidge under 20# on the scale

The water could not have been calmer or the sky clearer !

Today is "boat chores" but I ran a trip yesterday from Grayton. The kings were not hot- we puled one off at the boat and had another blow up on a bait without getting hooked so there are still a few around. Plenty of triggers and vermillions and we had a couple nice scamp in the box as well.

The fish were right where I had left 'em !

If the weather co-operates the next week should be busy here at the beach. Labor day weekend is the last big blow out for a lot of vacationers. It sure has been great to have a break but I know everybody will welcome the folks back for some more quality beach time.

More Fishing Reports:

Gulf Fishing off Grayton Beach in beautiful South Walton. Red Snapper to Cobia to King Mackeral to Grouper. No need to get up early or drive for an hour to a marina. We will pick you up on the beach and be on a reef or wreck in usually less than 15 minutes. Some of the Gulfs best fishing lies just offshore of the snow white sands of South Walton. We also offer Tarpon trips at Indian Pass during the summer run. July and August have large schools of giant Silver Kings feeding just off the beach.
