gag and scamps

Capt. Brian Keith
March 21, 2011
Destin - Saltwater Fishing Report

scamp groupers have been user friendly of the coast of Destin last week we caught an average of 10 each trip it is all c.p.r. fishing for groupers until april 1st but I know where some are living they better run and hide 4/1/11. We caught them on slip lead rig with 40 lb. flourocarbon leader with just enough lead to hold bottom. Using small pinfish for bait also we caught and released a 30 inch gag grouper. Some spanish are being caught north of the bridge on the slack tide look for the birds the spanish are under them. Also heard a good report of trout and redfish in indian bayou being caught on live shrimp.

Destin Fishing Forecast:

We are going to try the reds and sheepies south of the Destin bridge tommorrow. Remember do not catch your limit, limit your catch leave some for seed some of my competition just dont get it.

Target Species:

Redfish and sheepshead
