King Me !

Capt. Larry Pentel
August 12, 2011
Destin - Saltwater Fishing Report

WooHOO ! The Kings have been HOT since I have been back. The best part is the size seems to be getting bigger every day. While we had 1 yesterday afternoon that went 42#, this mornings board had 6 over 25# with a couple over 35# A heck of a grade !

Yesterday mornings folks were smiling too !

While I love to catch and (eat !) Kings there are some folks that would just rather bottom fish. No problem right now-- plenty of those critters too. There are even some legal Jacks around if you don't mind throwing back a bunch of "just" short ones to get a few keepers.

These folks wanted bottom fish-- they left pretty happy!

Before the kings got huge we had a couple combo trips that filled the board with critters from the top and the bottom.

A pretty good mix for a 4 hr!

Just to prove it wasn't a fluke the first day---

The bite should stay good and with school starting in most of the country next week the fishing spots should get a lot less crowded in the coming weeks. If I didn't have to take folks fishing every day I'd probably have to go fishin' myself next week-----

More Fishing Reports:

Gulf Fishing off Grayton Beach in beautiful South Walton. Red Snapper to Cobia to King Mackeral to Grouper. No need to get up early or drive for an hour to a marina. We will pick you up on the beach and be on a reef or wreck in usually less than 15 minutes. Some of the Gulfs best fishing lies just offshore of the snow white sands of South Walton. We also offer Tarpon trips at Indian Pass during the summer run. July and August have large schools of giant Silver Kings feeding just off the beach.
