Early is best

Capt. Greg Stamper
July 14, 2017
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Summer heat starts about 11am this time of the year, so getting out early in the morning has proven to be the way to go. Redfishing has been good until it starts getting hot, or after the late thunderstorms roll through cooling things off. We've caught reds and snook on a variety of baits all week long from white bait to artificial. Tarpon fishing is still going on with lots of juvenile fish patrolling their back-bay haunts. Sharks are everywhere, we caught 17 in one trip with several in the 7-8 foot size. There's a lot going on with the near shore wrecks and reefs as well. Permit, pompano, cobia, and snappers are a few of the species we've ran across recently. Tight lines Capt Greg
