Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The fishing this past week was steady with good variety and quality. The nearshore reef action was very good with good numbers of trout, sheephead, Spanish mackerel, grouper, snapper, flounder, and pompano. Shrimp tipped jig heads seemed to be the best method. Anchor up from the structure and drift your baits back. There were also some tripletail caught around the crab pot bouys. The backbay bite was strong with redfish, trout, ladyfish, and sheepshead. Shrimp on jig heads around the mangroves and oyster bars produced the red's and sheepshead. Shrimp and popping cork was the method for trout and ladyfish off the beaches and over the grass flats. Now is a great time to get out and put some fish in the cooler for dinner.
