Estero Bay: Redfish-Trout-Snook-Sheepshead

Capt. Joe Angius
March 6, 2015
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

With the weather constantly fluctuating, wind turning up the water, and odd tides fishing has been difficult. Schools of bait have been hit or miss as well. Shrimp is my go to bait and is catching everything! Also, Its extremely important to find warmer water, above 70 degrees, to find active fish.

Redfish can be found almost anywhere and are eating shrimp and white bait. Mangrove edges and oyster bars have been holding very nice sized fish.

Snook are in the backwaters eating large white baits. The smaller ones have been found around mangroves and will pick up shrimp on a 1/8oz jighead.

Trout are near the passes and in the potholes on healthy grass flats. Shrimp on a popping cork and artificial baits have been the most productive.

Sheepshead are right there with the redfish and snook. Shrimp and crabs on a jighead is a productive method.

Enjoy the weather and wildlife in Estero Bay! Don't forget to experience all of what Estero Bay has to offer.
