Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report
Wow, now is the time to get out and fish Estero Bay. Whether you are a fly fisherman or light spin, the bite is on and the variety is quality. The fly fishing is some of the best it can get right now with the trout, redfish, and ladyfish bite going crazy. Mix in some good snook fly action and there you have it. Green/white, black/red, and black/flash clousers will work great for trout and lady's. Nice long casts over the grass flats will produce the best action using an erratic retrieve. Shrimp patterns thrown around the mangroves and oyster bars will work for red's. Slow, short retrieve seems to be the best way for these patterns. Schminnow patterns thrown into the docks and mangroves will provide a good chance at snook. Look for docks with good moving water and let the fly drift into the docks and start a erratic retrieve. Spin anglers will note a quality bite on grass flats using a shrimp under a popping cork for trout and ladyfish. Shrimp thrown into the mangroves and around oyster bars will produce a good redfish bite.
