Estero Bay Report

Capt. Jon Fetter
June 2, 2016
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The afternoon rains have really turned the fishing on for anglers in and around Estero Bay. The redfish bite has definitely changed for the better and they are eating. Cut bait on the bottom, pinfish on floats, or shrimp under popping corks will work fine. fishing the higher water around the oyster bars and mangrove islands with moving water is the key. Anglers can find plenty of seatrout on the grass flats in 3-5 feet of water and shrimp under popping corks will work best. Here they will also get plenty of ladyfish which can be used for cut bait. The passes are loaded with fish from mackerel, ladyfish, trout, whiting, jacks, and even a few pompano. Bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads or shrimp under popping corks seems to be the best method.
