Estero Bay Report

Capt. Jon Fetter
November 3, 2016
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Despite the strong winds this past week there were plenty of fish to be caught. The redfish are really starting to move into their fall pattern and feeding. Work the grass flats near oysters bars for your best chances. They seem to be moving on and off the oysters as the tide changes. Shrimp tipped jig heads or free lined pinfish will work fine. Anglers will also pick up snook with this set-up. Spotted seatrout are all over the grass flats in 3-5 feet of water and shrimp under popping corks is the go-to setup. There are also plenty of ladyfish and jacks to keep anglers busy while fishing the grass flats. Sheepshead are starting to feed along the mangrove islands and floating docks on higher water. Shrimp tipped jig heads will work best. The passes are holding ladyfish, jacks, silver trout, and even pompano. Bottom bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads will work as will shrimp under popping corks.
