Estero Bay Report

Capt. Jon Fetter
December 4, 2016
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The winds have made it challenging for anglers this past week, but the fish were eating. Spotted seatrout are all over the grass flats in 3-5 feet of water. Shrimp under popping corks will work best to both locate them and put a few on the dinner table! Red fishing has been tough, but persistent anglers can get a few fishing cut bait around the oyster bars and mangrove islands. Snapper and sheepshead are all over the oyster bars and dragging shrimp tipped jig heads is the go-to method. The passes are holding pompano, small sharks, ladyfish, and jacks. Shrimp under popping corks or bouncing shrimp tipped jig heads will work best.
