Estero Bay Report

Capt. Jon Fetter
September 29, 2017
Estero Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well things are finally getting back to some sense of normalicy since Hurricane Irma. There is plenty of bait around and the fish are chewing. Redfish are hanging around the oyster bars and mangrove islands and are not picky about bait options. Free lined whitebaits, pinfish, cut ladyfish, or shrimp tipped jig heads will work fine. There have also been plenty of snook around the same locations and will take just about anything as well. Juvenile tarpon have been found outside the rivers and creeks feeding the bays and will take pinfish or whitebait under floats. They are favoring the higher water and seem to feed best on outgoing tide. Seatrout and ladyfish are all over the grass flats in 3-5 feet of water and shrimp under popping corks will work best.
